Hello!!
I am posting this to pay my tributes to all my teachers who have made me what I am today. Right from my school days, teacher's have played a significant role in molding me. There are a few of them whom I would like to mention to show my gratitude to all the stalwarts towering above the rest. That doesn't mean that the rest haven't done any for me and my career but for every student there'll be some teachers who have had an impact on them. Just today morning, I read a text that stated "The average teacher tells, the good teacher explains, the superior teacher demonstrates but a great teacher inspires". In line with this, there are a few who have inspired me.
Mrs. Susan John Chandy, my class teacher for five years of my primary education at Kendriya Vidyalaya, who strengthened my understanding of basic sciences. Mrs. Amulu, who strengthened my Hindi in primary followed by Mr. Ibrahim Khan in secondary school. Mrs. Sivgami and Mrs. Visalakshi, for making me strong enough in Maths. I owe my English to Mrs. Jalaja Sulochana and Mrs. Usha Sivaraman, who ensured that I had a strong vocabulary and fluency. I owe a lot to Mrs. Suganthi who made me understand my higher secondary Physics which later on laid the foundation for my engineering studies. And of course, Mr. Narayan Das for my biology. I still remember this day, 5th September, way back in 2001, when twelfth standard students were asked to choose one subject for which they can be the staff member for the day and take class for the juniors. That was sort of a tradition at our school, don't know whether it is practiced in others. The students would then be evaluated by the staff members and the best student teacher would be awarded. I had chosen Biology, and to my surprise I was chosen as the Best student teacher that year for Biology. Guess that's when it all started.
At college level, I would like to thank Dr. S. Thayumanavan, who was the Principal during my U.G., Mr. A. Ravichandran, the HOD during my initial years of B.E., Civil Engineering, Mr. T. A. Rajha Rajeshwaran, who had taken Soil Mechanics for me at U.G. level, Mrs. V. Vandhana Devi, for teaching me one of my other favourite subjects, Environmental Engineering, Mrs. Buelah Gnana Ananthi for making me structurally strong in Structural Analysis and Mr. C. Vijayaraghavan for helping me learn a bit of Remote Sensing and GIS and guiding me at the start of my teaching career.
At P.G. level, I would like to state on record my deep sense of gratitude to Dr. Illamparithi, Dr. Stalin, Dr. Muttharam and Dr. Premalatha for enabling me to understand the wonderful subject called Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering, without whom I would not be the one I am today.
Lastly, I would like to state on record a few people with whom I am working now for their inspiration; Dr. P. Kasinatha Pandian, my supervisor and current Principal for his management skills which I hope to learn someday, Dr. S. Vidhya Lakshmi, my current HOD for her humility, soft spoken nature and friendly approach which I wish to inculcate in me, my colleague and long time friend, Mr. S. Venkatraman, for his organisational capabilities and last but not the least, Mrs. R. Saraswathy for her cheerful attitude and friendly approach, both of which I'd like to learn.
