Code Book for Earthquake Resistant Design - IS 1893:2002

Hi,

Here's the recent version of the code book for earthquake resistant design. Had earlier posted the older version of the same code. This code book is also an essential code for the subject Basics of Dynamics and Aseismic Design of seventh semester, B.E., Civil Engineering under Anna University. I am also posting EQ21, the explanatory notes for IS 1893:2002 by Dr. Sudhir K Jain of IIT Kanpur for the benefit of my readers. Due to paucity of time, I am unable to put up a detailed post. The same is the reason behind the reduction in frequency of my posts. I'll get back to posting  frequently once I address my more immediate concerns. Hope this post helps you all!!!

Here another code book in my series of updates for IS code books. This code is for earthquake resistant design of structures. It will be useful for students in their design project and project work in seventh and eight semester respectively. It includes the general terminology, design principles and criteria for buildings, elevated structures, dams, bridges, embankments and retaining walls. Don't have much to add in this post, hence will go straight to the link for download.

The last post that I had posted was the code for design of reinforced concrete IS 456:2000. In continuation of that, here's an accessory that is sure to be helpful for the students of Civil Engineering. The design aids to IS 456:1978. It gives lots of graphs on stress strain relationships for various cases, along with details on flexural members, compression members, shear and torsion, anchorage and development length deflection calculation and working stress design. A must have for all students of Civil Engineering and practicing Civil Engineers.

Its been almost a week since I posted anything. Was a bit kept occupied with personal work. Got the time today and hence back to blogging. Was requested for this by one of my students and hence am posting this here. Storage structures is an elective paper for eighth semester, B.E., Civil Engineering, dealing with design of water tanks including steel, reinforced and pre-stressed concrete water tanks along with bunkers and silos both of steel and concrete.
