Concept Video: Liquefaction

Hello!

Today, I would like to show you a video regarding soil liquefaction.

Soil Liquefaction is the sudden change in the state of stress in the soil due to sudden and rapidly applied loading like in the case of an earthquake leading the soil to behave like a liquid losing its strength and stiffness. This usually happens in saturated/partially saturated soils. Soil liquefaction can result in either flow liquefaction or cyclic mobility.

In order to clearly understand the concept of liquefaction, I have presented the following videos to let you all see and learn how and why liquefaction happens.

Here is another video explaining liquefaction!
