Its been a while since I had posted here on this blog. I guess my last post was more than a week back if I remember correctly. Well, my research work as well as my teaching schedule at work place was keeping me busy all week long along with family commitments as well. Squeezed in some time today to sit with my blog. Today I am posting for you the code book for design of reinforced concrete IS 456 - code of practice for plain and reinforced concrete.
This code has five sections and eight annexes. Section one is general, whereas section two deals with material, workmanship inspection and testing. Section three lays out the general design considerations while section four talks about special design requirements for structural members and systems. Section five describes the limit state method of design. Of course, it is a fairly common code book available easily, if I might say so, in the internet. But still, felt that this blog would be incomplete if a very basic but essential code such as this isn't available for student reference. So posting it for the benefit of my students and readers.
